Sunday, while AR Rahman was performing live in Pune, police arrived at the venue. A video of the police entering the stage and demanding that the performance cease has gone viral after being shared on Twitter.

According to reports, AR Rahman was stopped while performing his popular song Chaiyya Chaiyya. However, because he performed after 10 p.m., he was instructed to end his performance, according to the authorities.
Pune police publish statement clarifying why AR Rahman’s live concert was halted
Monday, news agency ANI tweeted, “Pune Police stopped music maestro AR Rahman from singing at his concert last night after he continued to perform past the permitted 10 p.m. time.”
Smartana Patil, DCP Zone 2, Pune Police, stated, “Rahman was singing his last song, and while singing he did not realize that it was already past 10 p.m., so our police official who was at the venue went and conveyed to him the deadline to be followed in accordance with the Supreme Court’s guidelines, after which he stopped singing.”
Monday, AR Rahman tweeted pictures from his concert in Pune and assured his fans that he would return shortly. He said, “Pune! Thank you for last night’s affection and elation. Was such a thrilling concert! No surprise there is so much classical music in Pune! We will shortly return to sing with you again!”
The concert was held in the Raja Bahadur Mill neighborhood of Pune. The live concert took place from 8 to 10 p.m. As the singer reportedly exceeded the time limit, he was also interrogated by the officers. AR Rahman departed the stage after being asked why he continued to sing after 10 p.m., as reported by Lokmat Times.
AR Rahman was recently in the news after a video surfaced of him requesting his wife Saira Banu to speak in Tamil instead of Hindi at an event in Chennai.
