On Sunday Evening, during the Indian Premier League match between Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders, the swashbuckling batter Rinku Singh of Kolkata Knight Riders hit five consecutive sixes to help his team pull off an incredible victory by three wickets.
Rinku hammered the left-arm pacer Yash Dayal for five sixes in a row to win the game off the last ball. This was necessary since Rinku needed 29 runs off the last over. All of their hard work was for naught, as Rashid Khan took the initiative and led from the front, returning with fantastic figures of 3 for 37, while Alzarri Joseph picked up two wickets, but it was not enough. KKR’s Venkatesh Iyer scored 83 runs off of 40 balls, and KKR captain Nitish Rana produced an excellent knock of 45 runs off of 29 balls.
Lord Rinku Singh Smashed 5 Sixes in the last Five Balls
Rinku played the knock of his life and blasted one four and as many as six knocks over the fence to ensure that KKR would take home the victory in a match of historic significance. Previously, after making the decision to bat first, GT posted a magnificent 204 for four thanks in large part to the fifty runs contributed by Sai Sudharsan and Vijay Shankar. Rashid captained the team in lieu of Hardik Pandya, who was bedridden with an illness and could not play.
Shankar struck an undefeated 63 off of just 24 balls, while Sudharsan achieved a score of 53 off of 38 balls. Alongside Sudharsan and Shankar, opener Shubman Gill made 39. Sunil Narine, playing for KKR, took three wickets despite allowing 33 runs to be scored against him.
