On Tuesday, Mumbai Indians (MI) ace fast bowler Jofra Archer was unavailable for the contest against Delhi Capitals. Jofra Archer debuted for Mumbai Indians (MI) in their opening match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), and has since missed two matches due to injury.
Rohit Sharma, captain of MI, won the toss and elected to field first. After winning the toss, Rohit stated, “We batted poorly in the first two contests. The field appears desiccated and may become uneven. Riley Meredith replaces Stubbs. You need veteran athletes to step up when you’re struggling. Jofra Archer is unavailable at this time.
Aspire to get fit shortly
MI head coach Mark Boucher discussed Archer’s injury following the match against CSK. According to Boucher, Archer has a faint swallow (pain). We have an exceptional medical team caring for him. Obviously, he is a significant player for us as well, so we hope they can accommodate him shortly. We will always take care of the athlete, but at this time we are following the medical advice of our team. He will hopefully be available for selection very shortly.
