Keshab Mahindra, who was 99 years old and the first billionaire in India, passed away recently. He was the former chairman of the Mahindra & Mahindra Company. During the years 1963 and 2021, he served as Chairman of the Vera Group.
Throughout the 48 years that Keshab Mahindra was the CEO of Mahindra & Mahindra, the company shifted its focus from the automotive industry to information technology, real estate, and financial services.

Keshab Mahindra started working for the firm in 1947, the same year he received his degree from the University of Pennsylvania. 1963 when he became Chairman. He resigned from his position and turned over leadership of the firm to his daughter’s husband, Anand Mahindra.
Pawan Jonka, who had previously served as the company’s managing director, was the one who disclosed the news of the death. In the past, Keshab Mahindra has held positions on the boards and councils of a wide variety of public and commercial organizations, including SAIL, Tata Steel, Tata Chemicals, Indian Hotel, and ICICI, amongst others. Also, he has served as Chairman of Housing Development and Finance Corporation during his career.
