In the early hours of Monday, Madhu Lilothia, the wife of a former member of the Legislative Assembly for the Congress party named Rajesh Lilothia, was killed when the car she was riding in was struck by a speeding SUV in the Kashmere Gate neighborhood of north Delhi.
A group of law enforcement officers responded to the scene of the collision after obtaining information on the incident and discovered a damaged Baleno automobile there.

After the collision, the suspect driver ran away from the scene, and the victim was taken to the trauma center as quickly as possible by a CAT ambulance.
At 6:03 in the morning, Madhu Lillothia was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, according to Sagar Singh Kalsi, the DCP for the North district.
According to him, a complaint was filed at the Kashmere Gate police station under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 279 (dangerous driving or riding on a public road) and 304 A (causing death by carelessness), and an inquiry was initiated.
The accused driver, who has been named as Zainul and is a resident of New Seelampur, was located with the use of CCTV video, and Kalsi stated that he was subsequently apprehended.
