According to a press release from the Chief Minister’s office, the Uttar Pradesh government canceled all pending challans for automobiles from 2017 to 2021 on Friday.
“The Uttar Pradesh government has cancelled vehicle owners’ challans, giving concession to those who have not paid between January 1, 2017, and December 31, 2021. “This applies to all vehicles, including those in various courts,” the official statement read.
According to Transport Commissioner Chandra Bhushan Singh, divisional transport authorities should remove these challans from the portal after receiving the court’s abated case list.
This UP government decision will greatly relieve the public.
Lakhs of car owners, especially those penalized with traffic violations, applauded CM Yogi Adityanath’s move. After receiving the court’s list, the government has instructed all divisional transport offices to remove pending challans from the e-challan portal,” the official statement said.
In accordance with Uttar Pradesh Ordinance No. 2 of June 2023, the transport commissioner cancelled previous, outstanding challans.
Noida farmers protested for the cancellation of such challans. “This allows Uttar Pradesh to waive crores of challans,” the statement said.
If they believed a challan was wrong, drivers may quickly protest on the internet. A smartphone notification is sent when a car is challaned.
Drivers shouldn’t worry once previous challans are canceled. They may submit traffic tickets online from home. “Only the vehicle number is needed to get detailed information on the UP Traffic Police website,” the statement said.
