In honor of Nowruz, often known as the Persian New Year, Google has included a celebratory doodle on its homepage. Nowruz, which literally translates to “New Day,” is the first day of the Iranian or Persian new year, which occurs on or around March 21.

Nowruz is the beginning of the Iranian Solar Hijra calendar and marks the beginning of the Persian New Year. The beginning of spring in the Northern Hemisphere is signaled by the holiday of Nowruz. On the other hand, members of the Parsi community in India observe Nowruz in the month of August.
