Former Indian player and commentator Aakash Chopra believes that Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) batting has improved despite Andre Russell’s dismal form with the bat.

On his YouTube channel, the former Indian opener analyzed today’s match between the Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad, stating that while Russell’s bat has yet to communicate, the rest of the KKR batsmen are collecting runs. Chopra said,

Kolkata is a team that is growing very fast. It seems that there are some problems in the team. Till now Andre Russell’s bat has not spoken at all. There is some carelessness in batting but one day Rinku Singh comes, the next day Venkatesh Iyer comes and now captain Nitish Rana is also scoring runs.

The former Indian opener further compared KKR to Hardik Pandya’s team Gujarat Titans and said,

As far as I can see, I feel this Kolkata team is similar to Gujarat Titans team which finds a new hero in every match.

If Andre Russell returns to form, Chopra stated, this Kolkata squad will become even more hazardous.

Let us inform you that the Kolkata Knight Riders have won their last two matches in a row. Due to Rinku Singh’s incredible and inconceivable batting performance in the previous match, the team’s morale is high and they hope to continue their winning streak. Today, KKR will compete against Eden Markram’s Sunrisers Hyderabad at their home ground, Eden Gardens.
