Two of the best basketball players of all time, LeBron James and Kevin Durant, haven’t played each other since 2018.

Well, that’s shocking, yet it’s real! James has played against Durant once since joining the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2018-19 season, on Christmas Day, when the Lakers beat the Golden State Warriors 127-101. James scored 17 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, while Durant scored 21 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished out 7 assists.

LeBron James and Kevin Durant have not squared off.

Since then, the Lakers haven’t been able to field a team with James and Durant due of various factors including injuries and games against the Golden State Warriors and the Brooklyn Nets. ESPN Stats & Information found that there were 11 games in which a matchup between the two teams was possible but not actually played.

The Suns of Phoenix take on the Lakers of Los Angeles at midnight on a Wednesday. Both James and Durant are now out due to injuries; James has a foot problem, and Durant has ankle issues. On April 7, the second-to-last game of the season for both clubs, they will meet each other for the last time this year. We can only hope that they are both fit and energetic by then.
